- A Declaration of Allegiance at the Lord's Table
Last week, we considered how a biblical worldview should shape our decisions, even in the voting booth. Christians do not check their faith at the door when they enter public life. We are called to think biblically, vote biblically, and engage the culture as disciples of Jesus Christ.
But there is an equally important truth: while Christians must bring biblical convictions into every area of life, including politics, we must never place our ultimate hope in politics. Moral issues matter. Elections matter. Public engagement matters. Yet our confidence ultimately rests not in a candidate, a party, or an election result, but in Jesus Christ.
In this message from 1 Corinthians 10:14-22, we examine how the Lord's Supper calls believers away from rival loyalties and reminds us that our identity, unity, and hope are found in Christ alone. As we gather around the Lord's Table, we proclaim that before we belong to any earthly nation or political movement, we belong to the crucified and risen King. Jesus Christ alone is Lord.
