- Jesus, A Better Passover
Jesus doesn’t just celebrate Passover in Matthew 26 — He fulfills it.
In the upper room, the Lamb is fully in control, orchestrating every detail of His own sacrifice. At His table, hidden hearts are exposed, Judas is unmasked, and the disciples are forced into honest self‑examination. Then Jesus takes the ancient ordinance and reshapes it around Himself — the Bread broken, the Cup poured out, the New Covenant inaugurated in His blood.
This sermon walks through the shadow of Exodus and the substance of Christ: the sovereign Lamb, the Lord who searches the heart, and the Passover made new. It’s a call to come to the table thoughtfully, humbly, repentantly — remembering that the Forgiver became the Lamb, poured out His blood for the remission of sins, and promises to drink the cup new with us in His Father’s kingdom.
A better Passover. A better Lamb. A better deliverance.
