Our Desperation and God's Desire - Seeking the Voice of God

Audio

What if your desire to hear God isn’t the starting point — but the echo? Psalm 27 suggests that the ache in your chest for God’s voice is actually a response to something older, deeper, and more constant: God’s desire to be heard. David isn’t chasing a silent God; he’s answering a God who has already said, “Seek My face.” At the center of the psalm is the cry we all know — “Don’t hide Your face from me.” But that cry only exists because God has already turned His face toward us. Psalm 27 flips the script: maybe the real question isn’t “Is God speaking?” but “Are we answering?” It’s an invitation to rethink your longing — not as evidence of God’s absence, but as proof of His pursuit.
